These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the website, member platform, and related services offered under the NiceToMeet brand by WCC, storitve, d.o.o., Cankarjeva 4, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia, VAT no. SI41841727, registration no. 8371946000 (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By creating an account, purchasing a membership, accessing our platform, or using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services.
1. Eligibility
2. Our Services
3. Membership and Availability
Access to events is offered through paid memberships. Membership features, billing frequency, introductory offers, renewal terms, and any usage limits or availability rules are presented to you before purchase.
Your membership gives you the right to request or accept bookings for eligible events during an active membership period, subject to availability, capacity, location, operational constraints, and these Terms. Membership does not guarantee access to any minimum number of events, invitations, participants, cities, or outcomes.
Unless expressly stated otherwise at checkout, memberships renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
4. Booking Events
We may set reasonable limits on attendance, booking frequency, waitlists, lead times, cancellation cut-offs, and no-show rules to protect event quality and member experience.
5. Venues and Event Costs
We may provide indicative budget or venue information, but this is for guidance only. Menus, pricing, dietary options, accessibility, allergens, service quality, and venue policies are controlled by the venue, not by us.
6. Cancellations, No-Shows, and Attendance Rules
You may cancel an event booking up to the cancellation deadline shown on the platform for that event.
If you cancel before the applicable deadline, the cancellation will usually have no further consequence for your account unless otherwise stated for a particular event or offer.
If you cancel after the deadline, fail to attend, arrive too late to reasonably participate, or repeatedly make bookings you do not honour, we may apply reasonable consequences including booking restrictions, temporary suspension, reduced priority, or account termination.
We are not obliged to provide refunds, extensions, or replacement events for missed bookings, late cancellations, partial attendance, dissatisfaction with group chemistry, or dissatisfaction with venue choices, except where required by law.
7. Payments
All prices are shown in the currency indicated at checkout.
You authorize us and our payment processors to charge the applicable membership fees, renewal fees, taxes, and any other amounts clearly disclosed to you at the time of purchase.
If a payment fails, we may retry the payment method on file, suspend your membership, restrict access to bookings, or terminate your membership until payment is successfully completed.
You must keep your billing details current and accurate.
8. Automatic Renewal and Cancellation of Membership
Unless otherwise stated at purchase, memberships renew automatically for successive billing periods of the same length as your current plan.
You may cancel your membership at any time through your account settings or by contacting customer support. To avoid being charged for the next billing period, you must cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. Unless required by law, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period, and you will continue to have access until then.
9. Refund Right
You may cancel your membership within 14 days from the date of your initial purchase and request a refund, subject to the following conditions:
If you have not used our services during the 14-day period, you are entitled to a full refund.
If you have used our services during the 14-day period (including attending a dinner or accessing any matched event):
If you are located in the EU, EEA, or UK, you may be entitled to a partial refund proportional to the unused portion of your membership period.
If you are located outside the EU, EEA, and UK, no refund will be issued.
This 14-day refund right applies only to your initial membership purchase and does not apply to renewal payments unless required by law.
This clause is separate from your right to cancel future renewals under Section 8.
10. Account Security
11. Community Standards and Member Conduct
12. Safety and Personal Responsibility
You attend events and interact with other members at your own risk.
You are responsible for using reasonable judgment and taking appropriate precautions before, during, and after any event or interaction. This includes arranging your own transport, safeguarding your belongings, monitoring your alcohol consumption, and leaving any situation in which you feel unsafe.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for the acts, omissions, statements, conduct, products, or services of members, venues, or other third parties.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is prohibited by law.
13. Post-Event Feedback and Contact Detail Sharing
How post-event feedback works
After attending an event, you will be asked to complete a feedback form for other members of your group. As part of that form, you may give each member a thumbs up, okay/neutral, or thumbs down. Your feedback is submitted privately and is not individually disclosed to the member it relates to.
Mutual thumbs up matches and contact sharing
Where both you and another member independently give each other a thumbs up following the same event, we will share each of your phone numbers with the other person so that you can stay in contact. This sharing occurs only when the thumbs up is mutual — if only one person gives a thumbs up, no contact details are shared with either party.
By submitting a thumbs up, you acknowledge that if the other member also submits a thumbs up for you, your phone number as held on your account will be shared with that member, and their phone number will be shared with you.
Once a phone number has been shared with another member following a mutual match, we cannot compel that member to delete it. You are responsible for your own communications with any member whose contact details you receive, and vice versa. Members must not use contact details obtained through the platform for harassment, unsolicited commercial communications, or any purpose inconsistent with Section 11 of these Terms.
Legal basis and data protection
The sharing of contact details on a mutual thumbs up match is carried out on the basis of your consent, given by the act of submitting a thumbs up with knowledge of this policy. We process this data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law, including the UK GDPR and EU GDPR where applicable. For full details of how we collect, use, store, and share your personal data, including your rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, and objection, please review our Privacy Policy or contact us at support@nicetomeet.com.
14. Photos, Videos, and Testimonials
We or our partners may take photographs, videos, or testimonials at events for community, editorial, or promotional purposes.
15. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the website, platform, services, content, branding, databases, software, designs, text, graphics, and other materials are owned by us or licensed to us.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the platform for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, scrape, frame, republish, reverse engineer, or otherwise exploit any part of the services except as expressly permitted by law or by our prior written consent.
16. Privacy
17. Service Availability and Changes
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the services at any time for operational, security, legal, or business reasons.
We aim to keep the platform available and functioning properly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We are not liable for downtime, delays, data loss, or service interruptions caused by factors outside our reasonable control, including internet outages, third-party failures, force majeure events, or user device or configuration issues.
18. Suspension and Termination
19. Consumer Rights
20. Liability
21. Force Majeure
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by email, through the platform, or by updating the “Last updated” date above. The updated Terms will take effect on the date stated in the notice or, if no date is stated, when published.
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the services and cancel your membership before the changes take effect or before your next renewal, as applicable. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
23. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Slovenia, except to the extent that mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of habitual residence provide you with additional protections that cannot be excluded by agreement.
We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue informally.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the competent courts determined under applicable law will have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may also have the right to bring claims in the courts of the country where you live and to rely on any mandatory protections available there.
